| This BrewHouse Winterfest Ale has been mildly spiced in the tradition of Christmas Ales of the past. The Cinnamon and Nutmeg in this kit will contribute a gentle, aroma accent, without being overwhelming to most palletes. If you wish to create a brew with a more assertive spice note, the following suggestions will be of help. It is best to create an extract of spices, rather than adding spices directly, which can extract excess harsh flavour. |
Bring 2 litres water to a boil, add spices
and boil for 10 minutes, cool and strain. Use this solution as part of the
water addition to make up the volume of the kit. Suggestions: Ginger or Nutmeg - 2 tsp. ½ oz. Dried ginger root 1 oz. Curacao orange peel 1" Vanilla bean 2 oz. Coriander 2 grams Mace Others: Coffee at ½ lb. Per 5 gallons. Steeped, not boiled. |

Honey Blonde Ale- !!
A refreshingly smooth, full-bodied ale with a touch of all natural honey to create a slightly sweet finish. Golden in colour, with a rich, soft and round palate, we use pure clover honey to balance the satisfying ale character. |
It pairs extremely well with classic summer fare, such as cold fruit or fresh leaf lettuce salads but also has the resilience to stand up to most strongly flavoured foods like char-grilled meats and pizzas. |

| India
Pale Ale was developed in England during their colonization of India. The
civilians and soldiers living there had no access to beer of their own, as
tempertaures on the sub continent were constantly too warm for brewing.
Attempts at shipping beer from England( usually the new 'Pale' ales that
were becoming so popular) were foiled by the rocking of the waves and the
high temperatures in the ships hulls, which spoiled the beer long before it
reached its destination.
Back in London, a brewer named George Hodgson began brewing beer for export to India. The beer was brewed with a higher alcohol level, and higher hopping rates to preserve the beer on its journey. The beer was a success in India, and "IPA" as it came to be known, caught on in England as well and a new beer style was born! Our India Pale Ale has a copper/golden colour with a slightly higher starting gravity and hop rates than our regular Pale Ale with medium aroma hops. |
The Brew
House IPA is a perfect match for spicy foods and BBQ, as it has the
fortitude to stand up to the 'big food' flavour, yet is still crisp and
refreshing on the palate.
Our IPA has just been released. Don't miss out..... You may never forgive yourself!! |
